Only twice a Prophet was allowed
to destroy statues of idols.
That’s it. After that,
nobody has that right.
Not I. Not you. Not IS(is)!
Indeed, brahiem, peace upon him, did it. And when we correctly understand the way Allah tells us about it in the Qur’an, it becomes clear that this was a one time favor for him and him alone to do this in trying to show his people how weak their idols are. Only he, nobody else ever since, was allowed to use this “technique” for Dawah.
When our Profeet (Allah’s peace and blessings upon him) destroyed the idols in the Ka’bah, he did not do it as a means of Dawah. As we know, he had lived in Mekka, and he had prayed towards that same Ka’bah for years knowing very well that it contained those statues.
But when he entered Mekka as a conqueror, according to the Arabs habits he had the right to slaughter the whole city. And actually that is also what Allah had always done before: once the punishment came upon a people, it was destroyed entirely, wiped from the face of the earth. But this time, Allah limited his punishment to the destruction of their idols. You see, how Muhammad is a mercy of Allah!
